Biweekly Wrap-Up (12/13-12/24)

Hey Huskies! Here is what you need to know about what happened this week and what’s coming up.

Sports

All three levels of basketball played on Monday. Varsity girls won against Rock Ridge 71-11 and the Varsity boys lost 66-47 to Rock Ridge. They will all play at some point later in the week.

Varsity Gymnastics competed on the 15th in a meet with John Champe, Loudoun Valley, Potomac Falls, and Rock Ridge. 

Indoor Track & Field competed in their first meet on Wednesday against Stonebridge and Woodgrove. Tuscarora placed first in the Boy’s 55 Meter Dash (Michael Niemiec), Boy’s 500 Meter Dash (Evan Blum), Boy’s 300 Meter Dash (Evan Blum), Girl’s 1000 Meter Run (Charlotte Hassebrock), Girls 3200 Meter Run (Michaela Workman), and Boy’s 3200 Meter Run (John Gibson), Girl’s Shot Put (Emma Allen), and Boy’s Shot Put (RJ Evans). The team placed 2nd overall for both Girls and Boys.

Varsity wrestling will be competing against Musselman High School on both the 17th and 18th. 

Lastly, both Boys and Girls Swimming will be in the Conference Championship at Claude Moore Recreation Center.

Clubs and Activities

The Environmental Club is hosting a celebration for the upcoming holidays. You do not have to be a member to attend, all are welcome. There will be food, activities, and games. Come to room 503, 8:30 AM on Friday if you want to attend

Multiple clubs are hosting fundraisers, so be sure to look out for members advertising and consider donating to help their programs. 

 

Recent and Upcoming Events

The last day before break will be Friday the 17th. It will last until January 2nd, with students returning on the third. 

The Sophomore Class is having a Spirit Night at Panera on thursday. 20% of the revenue made will be donated to fund the class’s activities and endeavors, so be sure to go out and support.

There are still a couple days left for spirit week, remember to wear holiday colors on Thursday and wear your most comfortable holiday clothes for Friday.
