Super Bowl 51 Predictions

Super+Bowl+51+Predictions

By Sully Carr

The world’s most watched sporting event, the Super Bowl, will take place on February 5. The game is between the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots which is looking like it should be a fantastic game. It will be held at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas and will start at 6:30 EST. The Falcons and Patriots have each played well all season, especially during the playoffs.

The New England Patriots had a 14 and 2 record during the 2016-2017 season, which was the best in the American Football League (AFC). The Patriots will always be the favorites when Tom Brady is the quarterback, and Bill Belichick is the head coach. The team has great players on the offensive and defensive sides of the field. Star tight end, Rob Gronkowski, will not be able to play in the Super Bowl due to a herniated disk, but backup tight end, Martellus Bennett, has stepped up in his place and has played fantastic football. The Patriots defense has great players in multiple positions, Malcolm Butler, is a great lockdown cornerback who can defend multiple types of receivers. The team has had a great season and even a better playoffs, and will make the game hard for the Atlanta Falcons to win.

The Atlanta Falcons had a 11-5 record this season, which qualified them for the second best in the National Football League (NFC). The Falcons have a great coaching staff including defensive minded head coach, Dan Quinn. The team’s offensive coordinator, Kyle Shanahan, calls a great game which lead the team to average the most amount of points scored per game, 33.8, and the second most yards averaged per game, 415.8. The quarterback, Matt Ryan, passed for 4944 yards in the regular season which was the most in the NFL this year. Ryan in his last seven games has thrown for 21 touchdowns and zero interceptions. The Falcons star wide receiver, Julio Jones, has been a beast all season long and caught for 1,409 yards in the regular season. Jones has also played his last few games with three injuries in his foot, two in his toe and one in the middle of his foot, but that still has not held him back in the playoffs. The Falcons defense is young and includes, Vic Beasley Jr., who had 15.5 sacks in the regular season which was the best in the NFL. The Falcons’ defense is the weakest link, and might be holding the Falcons back from winning the Super Bowl.

This years Super Bowl should be a fantastic high scoring game that will be “must see” television. The Super Bowl always has great commercials from top market products, and may even include movie trailers for upcoming films. The game will also include a half time performance from Lady Gaga, and national anthem sung by Luke Bryan. The big game should be fun to watch for sport fans across the world.
