Ikea, our favorite Swedish furniture store, is releasing its first line of gamer-related gear. It’s new lineup includes six different product families and focuses on the diversity of gamers around the world. In their own announcement article, the company was humble, stating that they were new to gaming products and partnered with ASUS and their parent company, Republic of Gamers (ROG) to create products they knew would work.
However, none of the items in Ikea’s new line look anything like the familiar white or black plastic paired with bright RGB lighting, in fact, most of the items carry the same inexpensive, but still fairly well-built, minimalist furniture Ikea is attributed to. Its chairs, desks, and accessories, though still with that gamer ergonomic design, could be a part of any office or bedroom, with items that serve multiple purposes.
The new range is already available in China, and though it will come to Japan in May, it won’t be available for the rest of the world until October. That said, there are quite a few things to look forward to, and not just only for gamers.
