The National English Honor Society (NEHS) and DECA are hosting a used book drive to supply their used book fair. Starting last week, book donation boxes were placed in all English classrooms and in the library. All books that are donated are asked to have a sticky note on the back with the student’s name, their English teacher’s name, and their English block. The English class which donates the most books will win a pizza party.

The NEHS and DECA have been hosting a used book fair with the approximately 300 books collected from the drive. The fair was held in the library on March 23 and 24, from 4-6 p.m., and will be held again for the final time after school on Thursday, 26. A wide range of books are available, including children’s books, Young Adult novels, adult novels, and educational/self-help books. Paperback books are being sold for 50 cents and hardcovers are being sold for $1.

All proceeds from the event will go to United Through Reading, a nonprofit organization that allows U.S. military families who are separated to have the experience of reading together through the use of video-recorded reading books. Books which are not sold during the fair will also be donated.

Book donations are still welcome through Thursday evening. If you are interested, bring your donations to the library with sticky notes included.
