This is the fourth week of my college football picks and I’m already more accurate than those fools Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Jesse Palmer, and Mark May. I had a highly successful 8-2 record last week, and I was a Texas A&M collapse and a competent South Carolina Quarterback away from a second straight week of perfection. Despite this, I am now 25-5 since I started doing these picks, and my road to greatness continues to be paved. However, due to those two losses last week by the Aggies and the Gamecocks, I now resent the entire university of Texas A&M and half of the state of South Carolina, with the only university I respect now in that state being Clemson, which has come through for me the last two weeks in my upset pick. Due to this, Clemson has become my second favorite team behind the West Virginia Mountaineers. The Tigers are truly an underdog story that rivals only the USA Hockey team during the Miracle on Ice.
Speaking of underdogs, the Marshall Thundering Herd actually won a game, defeating the prestigious Louisville Cardinals 17-13. To celebrate this feat, the citizens of Huntington, West Virginia decided to copy the Mountaineer fans and burn something in celebration. To top the Mountaineer fans (since the Thundering Herd obviously can’t top the Mountaineers in an actual football game), West Virginians decided that burning couches weren’t enough, so they decided to burn their houses! This celebration never got started, however, as news soon reached Huntington that Brian Brohm is no longer the quarterback for Louisville and that Louisville is indeed no longer a top ten program and hasn’t been since 2006. (News travels slow in Huntington.) Afterwards, the city of Huntington vowed to live on the streets until Marshall wins the Beef O’ Brady’s Bowl and rumor has it that the Thundering Herd faithful now see themselves as the TRUE Beef O’ Brady’s Bowl champions, since the Louisville Cardinals are the defending champions from last year. This was truly a crowning achievement in the history of Marshall football. The quest for the Beef O’ Brady’s Bowl trophy, my dear readers, continues for the Thundering Herd.
Seeing as I have as much of a chance of topping my last paragraph as Virginia Tech has of ever coming close to winning a National Championship , I’ll just go straight to my picks.
