The theater department is always impressing the students, faculty, and families of Tuscarora, and that is sure to continue for the rest of this school year as a lot is happening. On February 7th, a new performance is coming to the school, which the student thespians have been working on.
Most of the students and faculty at THS know about Charlie Brown from growing up watching the programs on TV or in comics. However, this play isn’t your ordinary Peanuts cartoon.
“You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” is a bunch of Peanuts comics put to music and performed on stage,” Says Ana Cesarz. Cesarz is starring in the play as Lucy Van Pelt. “The show is full of the characters from the original comic strips. I really like that the ensemble is just as featured as the leads are and that we are all really close.”
Another character being played is Schroeder. When asked Leroy Thompson, who is playing this character, explains who this is. “Schroeder, if you’ve seen him is the guy always playing the piano. I kinda put my own spin on everything.”
Thomposon, a senior at Tuscarora, also has a lot of love for this play. “I think it’s cool how we see teenagers, high schoolers, go into a kid persona. The timing of the show is really funny. There is a lot of jokes and a lot of fun playing around.”
The play will combine all of the Peanuts programs that aired on TV and has lots of original spin offs with some new music and lots of fun. “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” is going to have its first showing on February 7, so make sure you get your ticket to see what is sure to be a great show!
