Sports

Varsity Football will be playing against Kettle Run High School in the first round of the playoffs at 7pm on Friday, November 12th. Come out to support our Huskies!

Cross Country made it to the State Finals after their 2nd place win at Regionals on November 2nd. The girl’s team was led by Sadie Dillard and John Gibson for the boy’s. They will be competing at Great Meadow at 1:00. 

Winter sports’ pictures are happening on November 16th in the afternoon right after school.  In addition, the winter parent-coach meeting will be at 7pm on the same date. Be sure to come out to find important information about winter sports. -winter parent-coach will be at 7 on the 16th

 

Here is the schedule for winter sports tryouts: 

Gymnastics: start date is November 9th 4:30-6:30 in aux gym

Boys Basketball: start date is November 8th 6:30-8:30 in the gym

Girls Basketball: start date is November 8th 4:30-6:30 in the gym

Swim: 9-10:30 at Ida Lee on November 8th

Winter Cheer: 4:15-6 nov 9th in the cafeteria 

Wrestling: 4:30-6:30 in the wrestling room on November 8th

Indoor Track & Field interest meeting is November 11th at 4:15pm

 

If you want to try out, make sure you have turned in your physical and are registered for whichever sport you want to do.

 

Activities 

Literary magazine is accepting submissions. If you want to submit creative writing, photography, pictures, or any other form of art, you can submit to [email protected] 

Theater will be having their play, which is a “secret.” The dates will be 11/18 at 7pm, 11/19 at 7pm, 11/20 at 7pm and 11/21 at 2:30pm. Book a seat to make sure you get a spot. Standard seats are $10 and premium seats are $15. 

 

Recent and Upcoming Events and Deadlines

This month is Native American Heritage Month. The THS library will be hosting a series of events and activities to celebrate. Some of these include a rededication of the THS Dreamcatcher (date TBD), makerspace (making a paper basket using traditional methods), and two youth activist symposiums (“black indigenous youth advancing social justice” on 11/12 and Retelling the American Story on 11/19).

PBIS is trying a new initiative. You can now get a husky ticket for telling your teacher about what you read during RISE read.
