Healthy Relationships in February

Healthy+Relationships+in+February

During the month of February, PEER (Positive Experiences in Education Relationships) sponsored a campaign to promote Healthy Relationships. The PEER group had worked on the Healthy Relationships campaign, creating posters and planning the large pledge signing event during lunch on February 12th. Most of the behind the scenes which students don’t see are, students in the PEER program have committees that plan each campaign.  Each committee consists of a group of about 2-5 PEER members that plan and produce each campaign that is sponsored throughout the school year.

One PEER Member, Emma Koochagian says, “I liked doing the Healthy Relationships campaign, everyone loved the stickers and receiving the goodie bags.”  The big part of the Healthy Relationships campaign was where students signed a large poster that said “Choose Love” if students signed the poster, they received candy and a sticker that said, “I choose love”.  Another part of the campaign was, if students signed the poster, they were able to send a candy gram to a friend, this was something that students enjoyed. Bella Mendoza, a student who received a candy gram says, “It was very sweet of my friend to get me one, it brightened my day because the sweet tarts were delicious.”  Students enjoyed receiving a candy gram that had candy and a small note in it. Look out for the next PEER campaign which will be Unity Week.
