On Saturday, October 25th, Tuscarora’s Key Club held an event in partnership with UNICEF called Trick or Treat for Project Eliminate, a fall festival from 1 to 4 p.m. supporting the elimination of maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT). Families were able to come dressed up in costumes, and play different fall-themed games. Admission was two canned goods.
“I really wanted to do something for UNICEF and raise money for Project Eliminate, Key Club’s big district project,” said junior Erin Azie, Key Club Vice President, on her motivation for organizing the fall festival held Saturday.
During the festival, Key Club held a bake sale and a raffle to raise money for The Eliminate Project. The money will be used for immunization of women and children affected by MNT.
Members were also able to request donations for UNICEF in little orange boxes while trick-or-treating on Halloween. Key Club has worked to make a difference in The Eliminate Project and serve not only the community, but other parts of the world.
“I think that after our UNICEF donation boxes are turned in, we will have made a pretty good contribution,” said Azie.
