Bright Life Huskies Host its First Bingo Night

By Delaney Casten

On Friday, December 13, the Bright Life Huskies club, an organization which brings together the community in hopes of offering support for special education students, held its first Bingo Night from 7-9 p.m. in the cafeteria.

“Bingo Night was an amazing way to expose our club to the community and engage in a friendly competition of bingo,” added first year club member, 10th grader Jeyda Turker.

On the night of the event, balloons, glow sticks, and lights were hung around the cafeteria. The theme for bingo was neon, so everyone wore neon shirts and glow sticks.

There were seven rounds of bingo overall, and each winner got a special prize box containing items like gift cards.

“[Bingo Night] was very successful given [that] we didn’t have a lot of time to pull it together,” said junior and club member Laura Modica. “Everyone worked hard [to] put up signs and get the word out.”

Adult sponsor Trisha Peters said, “The highlight for me was seeing students have the confidence to call out the bingo numbers. The Bright Life Huskies look forward to hosting another Bingo Night this school year.”
