Diamonds In Da ‘Burg: The Ultimate Yard Sale

Diamonds In Da ‘Burg: The Ultimate Yard Sale

Leesburg is a town filled with many things like senior citizens, numerous antique stores, and a downtown deader than the Old West after 5pm. However, if you are a teenager, you can always find some diamonds in da burg. These diamonds are places that people don’t just know, they treasure. Every other week I will highlight a diamond so unique that I have to shine the brightness on our school.

If I could tell you that you could find a fifty dollar chair for 60 cents; or a bike worth a hundred dollars for ten dollars, would you believe me? If you didn’t, I wouldn’t be surprised because this sounds like a straight scam. I didn’t in fact believe it until my dad told me that we were picking up my moped at the county surplus store.
When I walked in I was met with a somewhat dismal looking interior; however my eyes weren’t focused on that they were immediately drawn to all of the new and used items strewn about the warehouse like room.  Items were ranging from a collection of R&B CD’s, (which look to be in the hundreds) to a bright white moped.
The reason this Store has so many interesting things is the Loudoun County Sheriff’s office frequently donates confiscated items to the store. This makes walking into here a potential goldmine as you could just find office chairs or you could find two subwoofers that the Sheriff’s office was kind enough to donate.
The main pull for Teens is not the items but the price of the items; since all of the items were donated, they are able to steeply discount the diamonds located deep in this store. The discounts can be up in the 70% to 90%, for any teen on a budget this is one of the most beautiful things you can ever imagine.
Being broke is a reality for most of us, and the Surplus Store is a great option for how to get some of what you want and have more than loose change in your wallet. Another draw could be for students going to college next year. The office chairs and stereos that constantly litter the Surplus Store would fit in perfectly in any dorm, and the price will make it so you won’t have to eat hot pockets for the next two years
. I will personally vouch for this store as my moped is still running perfectly after several months of ownership, and by the way it runs I can see it lasting for many more. No matter what you are looking for you can walk in with twenty dollars and leave with a couple of diamonds that will last you many years to come.
The only dirt obstructing this diamond is there very inconvenient business hours. They are only open from 10-4 during winter and 8-4 during the summer. To make this even harder the only days they are open are on second Friday and the last Saturday of every month. This harsh  business hours is because there is not unlimited amount of materials that can be donated so they have to space things out to keep their inventory fresh.
For all of you that are interested here is their address 14 Cardinal Park Drive, Suite 106 in Leesburg.  You can always give them a call on this number 703-737-8355 during their business hours if you feel like gathering further information on this diamond.
